How it all began. . .
I was a certified Genshin HATER until I began playing! I swore to myself I would never be enticed by the world of gacha, and now look at me two years later... a poor poor gacha fool...

For the longest time I wanted to find a game that would "keep me fed" as one would say, which meant I was trying to get into idol games and Genshin at the same time... let's just say my wallet is doing awesome. Here's photographic evidence of me wanting to ruin my life:

What really drove me to finally start playing Genshin was the man, the myth, the one and oni... Arataki Itto!

While Itto isn't my favorite character anymore, he was what inspired me to begin playing the game. Him and Hu Tao honestly, but he was what literally got me to sit down and download the game. I began playing Genshin during his first rerun (v2.7, AKA late June/early July 2022).

Those were horrifying nights... I was doing a summer internship so I had WAY too much free time and Genshin absolutely consumed me. I think that Genshin gacha is pretty generousas long as you don't pull on every single character, but being a new player sucks when it comes to grinding. I should have joined 1-2 patches before his rerun but there was no way for me to know that... instead, I suffered.

I spent so many late nights grinding primos from every measly common chest I could find... TWO PRIMOS AT A TIME, I farmed my way up to Itto. Luckily I got him around 75 wishes in and won the 50/50. Similar to my story with first getting into D4DJ, I don't think I would have kept playing if I hadn't won that 50/50... they roped me in!

So, what began as a "sure I guess I'll try to play a little since this Itto guy is coming back" became something completely unexpected... a new obsession. I seriously love Genshin despite some of the shady stuff hoyo pulls (I'm in the camp of "it's a gacha game, what do you expect", but I realize saying that isn't helping anyone), and while I'm not sure how long I'll play for I know I'll be there to c6 Dainsleif the day he finally drops...

Only like, 3 more years until then, right? T-T...
