Seven is a character created for a 13th Age campaign played with my friends. There's a lot of world lore that is weaved into his story. I thought the easiest way to share this important context is through a timeline.
This is the most bare bones version of Seven's story with no flavor. For more info on his personality and relationships check out other tabs~Key figures:
The Gravebreaker: A necromatic icon that seeks absolute power over the undead.
The Shovellers: A cult that worships The Gravebreaker and are doing everything in their power to bring him back.
The Numbered: A group of undead soldiers made by The Shovellers for unknown purposes, likely to be used to resurrect The Gravebreaker.
The Lich King: A rival necromatic icon that seeks absolute power over the undead.
- "The Gravebreaker" and his worshippers, "The Shovellers", emerge
- They begin to collect and raise the dead for an unknown purpose
- The long-brewing conflict between The Gravebreaker and "The Lich King" finally erupts into a war, both sides believing there can only be one true ruler of the undead
- The Lich King and Gravebreaker's armies fight a horrible and gruesome battle with their legions of vile undead creations
- The arcane energy released from this battle forms "The Fangs" (rock formation) and causes the skies to darken
- This darkness began "The Age of Long Night"
- Other icons, during this clash, try to take control of the chaos- others simply wait to see who will emerge victorious
- An undead abomination created by The Gravebreaker & Shovellers almost turns the tides in battle, but they are ultimately defeated
- The Lich King, in a final move of desperation to reign, unleashes a final move that wipes out both armies
- The magic was so powerful that for centuries undead could not take form
- It was thought The Lich King and Gravebreaker both perished in battle
- The methods used to create the abomination used by The Gravebreaker & Shovellers made to defeat The Lich King are thought to be lost
- The remaining Shovellers, in secret, slowly begin to regain their numbers and pour everything into researching a way to rebuild this abomination in an improved form
- The Shovellers succeed in creating the first and second of "The Numbered"... a collection of 10 undead soldiers they will raise and train to fight for their cause
- The Shovellers and a cult called "The Faceless" begin a dark alliance to support each other
- The Faceless require the faces of creatures to perform their dark magic, and The Shovellers require bodies...
- Subject No.1 is deemed a failure
- Subject No.2 is deemed a success
- The Shovellers begin to make the subsequent Numbered more rapidly
- No.3-7 are created
- No.8-10 are created
- All of The Numbered are complete
- The Numbered are released across The Dragon Empire in order to be hunted down and consumed by No.2
- The Shovellers at the south-west lab attempt to create constructs en masse but were destroyed by their creations
- No.10 is consumed by No.2
- No.9 is consumed byNo.2
- No.8 is consumed by No.2
- No.4 is consumed by No.2
- No.7 and No.3 briefly make contact, and No.7 is told about his true purpose
- No.3 is consumed by No.2
- No.7 locates No.6 and shares information about his true purpose
- It's revealed to No.7 and No.6 that each of the 10 Numbered are created with cores that are powered by one of The Gravebreaker's fingers
- No.7 seeks out No.5 to share information about his true purpose, and hopefully form an alliance with her and No.6 to fight against No.2

A female human cleric who quickly became a maternal figure for Seven. Although she had to leave for her own journey, they promised to meet again one day and stick together forever. Seven misses her very much.
A female human wizard who Seven is keeping his eye on. He promises to kill her if the witch resting within her becomes too difficult to control.
A male kobalt fighter who seems to be in as much trouble as Seven is, which he appreciates. Although his optimism and tendency to get distracted can cause tension.
A young female wood elf bard who Seven feels the need to one-up due to them being the only "children" in the party. He used to view her as a weak crybaby but is slowly warming up to her over time.
A male half-elf rouge who seems to keep the party at arms-length. Despite this, he continues to protect and look out for Seven after Eve's departure.
The newest member of their party, a male halfling monk whose cheerful nature and tendency to get off track grates at Seven.
Evil twink who is chasing Seven and the other Numbered in order to consume them. He'll stop at nothing to get what he wants and seems to be unwaveringly loyal to the Shovellers.
Called to Seven and was the one to alert him of his true purpose. She was consumed by Marcus but Seven continues to look up to her and regrets his inability to save her.
A Numbered who mirrors Seven when he first escaped- overconfident, aggressive, and unwilling to listen. Seven desires to protect his bretheren so he attempts to ally with and alert Rourke of the dangers following them both.
In another life...  Xarrakir acts as a paternal figure to Seven, helping him work through similar traumas. Emo understands emo.
While designing my character for the TTRPG I'd be joining, I wanted to push myself to make a different kind of character than I had played in the past. My past two characters were very loud and outgoing (cough cough Freyja and Dani), so Seven was supposed to be a lot quieter and observant... This would have contrast with a brutal "switch" when he entered battle and went into soldier-mode. Knowing myself I should have known no matter how hard I try to play "the silent type" I enjoy sharing my thoughts too much... Seven quickly became the sassy snarky child he is now.
Yep... I love this little dude. I haven't been so consumed by an OC before so this is all very exciting for me. I'm still actively playing the campaign I made him for so his story is a huge WIP, and not solely up to me!
